Life-Saving Trust

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Wednesday, October 9, 2024

I learned a few weeks ago about a life-saving incident my 17-year-old grandson was involved in this summer. He told me that the incident occurred when he was vacationing with family on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, near Myrtle Beach, SC. He iterated how while swimming and playing in the ocean with one of …

BROKENNESS

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Sunday, April 14, 2024

Can anything that’s broken ever be restored to its original form? No, not really. Even if on the surface, the object may appear to be flawless, but underneath you know it’s just not the same. Does that make it better or worse? What if no one else but you knew that it was broken, but …

Friends In High Places

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Thursday, January 11, 2024

Most of you have no doubt heard the song, “Friends in Low Places”, made famous by country singer and songwriter, Garth Brooks [1990, No Fences].  It’s by far, one of my favorite songs, and is used to bring many people together on the dance floor or in the pub to sing together with great enthusiasm.  …

Our “Others” of Life

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Friday, November 17, 2023

Who are the “others” in my life? I’ve been reading so much about those “others” lately. But who are they? The dictionary loosely defines “others” as any person not like you in appearance, spiritual faith, political beliefs, or position in life. So in other words (pardon the pun), for the most part, the “others” in …

We Are God’s Reflection

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Friday, November 17, 2023

Have you ever considered that all the light produced in our solar system comes from only one source – the sun? The night light from the moon, planets and stars is a reflection of the sun’s light. These other heavenly bodies have no capability to produce the light, they merely reflect the light that strikes …

“Take Up Your Cross”

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Thursday, September 14, 2023

Have you ever deeply contemplated the meaning behind what Jesus said in Matthew 16: 24, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”?  Do you believe the “take up your cross” aspect is still relevant today?  I mean, really, who goes around carrying a cross on …

A Speck of Sand

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Thursday, August 17, 2023

Have you ever thought about what it would be like if you were a speck of sand? Imagine you are just one grain of sand lying on the beach near the sea, basking in the warmth of the sun by day and the coolness at night.  The ebb and flow of the sea washing over …

Happy Independence Day – How Free Are We?

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Tuesday, July 4, 2023

Happy 4th of July, my fellow Americans!! Happy 247th birthday America!! What a wonderful day to celebrate “Freedom”, right? After all the parades, band concerts, crazy eating contests, backyard barbecues, family and friends getting together, and finally the “fireworks” that we just can’t seem to get enough of, to culminate this glorious day; in the …

Pass or Fail – How Do You Measure Up?

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Sunday, July 2, 2023

Do you enjoy taking tests or exams that have a “pass/fail” outcome? No grading on the curve, no grade, i.e., A+ or C- for your effort, just a flat, in your face, “Pass or Fail”. I venture to say that most of us do not enjoy such tortures in life. I’ve had several and I’m …

“The Lord’s Prayer” – An Internal Contemplation

By JERRY ALBRITTON on Thursday, April 6, 2023

Whether you are a “believer” or a “non-believer”, by now you have heard of or recited “The Lord’s Prayer” or the “Our Father” prayer in one form or another in your life. This instructive guidance from Jesus to His disciples is documented in two versions, one in Luke’s gospel and one in Matthew’s gospel (the …

America's Other Pandemic: A Christian's Perspective on the Decaying of America's Moral Foundation

"America's Other Pandemic" presents a thought-provoking conversation on the cultural, social, spiritual, political, and racial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, and how the unprecedented events of 2020 and 2021 have exacerbated the moral decline in American society.  There is a war underway for the soul of America, precipitated by the relentless attacks to the fundamental principles and values of American democracy for which our great country was founded.  My assessment from doing research for this book is that today’s cultural climate no longer represents the ideals our Founding Fathers used in creating the great American experiment – democracy.  My intent is to encourage readers to take an internal self-guided examination of conscience through the questions posed and relevant Biblical passages offered in each chapter. Learn more about the book at my website: www.jerryalbritton.com.

My Prayer Box

Peace be with You.

May the Lord bless you and keep you,

May the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you,

May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace.

Amen.

Thought of the Day
It is well with my soul.
Though strife, turmoil, and confusion surround me, I am content in knowing God’s mighty right arm surrounds me and protects me.
It is well with my soul.
Trials and tribulations, fear and anxiety may be coming, but I am confident in my path the Lord is taking me because I trust Him. He will see me through it.
It is well with my soul.
The Lord’s grace and goodness will flow to me in overwhelming abundance all the days of my life because God loves me.
It is well with my soul.
I will love my God with all my heart, with all my strength, with all my soul and with all my mind.
It is well with my soul. Amen.
